Launch

Launch Report for Saturday, September 8th, 2001
(Salvo 1)

After being without a launch site for most of the year, our rocket club finally had its first launch of the year at our new site just outside of St-Pie-de-Guire, Quebec, Canada.  A great many of our members showed up to get their fix of BP & AP and there were many flights today despite breezy conditions.

This first salvo of the day was a short one with only one rocket of five making it off the pad.

Unknown rocket on an Estes C6-5

After misfires on four other rockets, this one was finally the first of the day to take to the air.  Up it went on a C6-5 for a perfect flight and deployment on a 12 inch chute.  Unfortunately, the wind carried it well into the forest and it was never seen again.  At this time, I do not know who owned this rocket.
