Launch Report for Saturday, September 8th, 2001
(Salvo 2)
Richard Sylvain's unknown rocket on an Estes C6-5
| This rocket was
first to get off the ground on the second salvo and it went up on a C6-5. It
weathercocked somewhat (fortunately) and because of this, it landed well
within the recovery area. |

Unknown rocket on an Estes B6-4
| This rocket was up
next on a B6-4 after misfiring during the first salvo. This rocket
was quite a high performer and beautifully painted, but like the first
flight of the day, this one landed well into the forest and to the best
of my knowledge this one was never recovered. |

Black Jack Shellack
(LOC/Precision Expediter) on an Aerotech F50
| "Black Jack
Shellack" is a LOC/Precision Expediter with some very nice artwork
on it and by its name, I assume that it's made numerous flights on
Blackjack motors. I saw this rocket fly last year at one of our
launches and on this day, it made its last flight as it too fell victim
to the forest. At this point our RSO opened the field so that
everyone could increase the launch angles into the wind so that they
would at least land back in the recovery area. |
