Launch Report for Saturday, September 8th, 2001
(Salvo 6)
Marc Ouellette's Aerotech ISQY
Tomahawk on an Aerotech E15-7W
| After a few
misfires on previous salvos, Marc's ISQY Tomahawk took off on an
E15-7W. It weathercocked quite heavily and lawn darted into the
bean field after which the ejection charge fired clearly indicating
where the rocket was! |

Apogee II on an Estes C6-5
| The Apogee II
which I believe was scratch built was up next on a C6-5. This nice
rocket unfortunately also fell victim to the forest. |

Estes Maxi-Force on three Estes D12-3's
| Although I have
one of these sitting at home unbuilt, this was the first time I ever saw
an Estes Maxi-Force fly. All three D12-3's lit and it made a
spectacular flight, landing well within the field. |

Quest Tomahawk on an Estes
B6-4
| Up
next was a Quest Tomahawk missile on a B6-4. Very nice flight with
a landing right on the wire of my launch controller at Pad 9! |

Jacques Beauséjours' Estes Tomcat on an Estes C6-3
| Jacques' Estes Tomcat on
a C6-3 was next and this one was one of the more spectacular flights
since it had glide recovery and its flight path had it making a banking
turn and then a strafing run back towards the launch area! |

Flight 597,
116th flight this year
Keith Bedard's Aerotech Arreaux on an
Aerotech E15-4W for its 6th flight
| My own Aerotech
Arreaux was next on an E15-4W for a perfect flight with another landing
in the bean field. Not a problem this time though since Arreaux
was carrying the Transroc II sonic beacon so I found it easily. I
probably would have lost this rocket without the Transroc II and in only
one flight, this little beeper paid for itself. Many were
fascinated by it and asked where I got it. |
