Launch

Launch Report for Saturday, September 29th, 2001
(Salvo 1)

Only three weeks after our first monthly meeting at our new launch site in St Pie-de-Guire, in Quebec, Canada, we had our next launch today.  Weather conditions were better than last time with the skies being clear, winds being lighter and coming in from the northeast as well as the temperature being much cooler at around 16 degrees Celsius (61 degrees F).

Émille's LOC/Precision Aura on an Estes D12-3

Time at Liftoff: 12:11:40
Flight Duration in Seconds: 19
Émille`s LOC Aura was the first flight of the day and it blasted into the sky on a D12-3 and came down very close to the pad on a pair of streamers.

Jacques Beauséjours' Aerotech Initiator on an Aerotech E15-4W

Time at Liftoff: 12:12:17
Flight Duration in Seconds: 20
Jacques' first flight of the day was his Aerotech Initiator on an E15-4.  Gorgeous boost, but with a bit of a scare for our RSO when the motor casing ejected and landed literally inches behind him!

Jacques Beauséjours' Estes Skywinder on an Estes C6-3

Time at Liftoff: 12:13:22
Flight Duration in Seconds: ??
Jacques sent up his Estes Skywinder right after the Initiator and unfortunately, it broke up at ejection into three pieces.  Not a good start to the day for Jacques!

Marie-Claude's LOC/Precision Vulcanite on an Aerotech F25-4W

Time at Liftoff: 12:14:42
Flight Duration in Seconds: 57
Marie-Claude started her day of flying with her LOC Vulcanite on an F25-4 for a beautiful flight and a landing a few hundred feet west of the pad.

Yves Lacombe's LOC/Precision Onyx (stretched) on an Aerotech F50-4T

Time at Liftoff: 12:16:10
Flight Duration in Seconds: 34
Yves' stretched LOC Onyx was next on an F50-4 and a very small chute.  Something interesting I noticed was that two pieces of florescent colored wadding ejected obviously to aid in tracking.
