Estes Scorpion on an Estes B6-4
| Time at Liftoff: |
14:40:10 |
| Flight Duration in Seconds: |
43 |
| I almost missed
getting this flight on camera since I didn't have my camera ready.
This Estes Scorpion got some pretty decent altitude on the B6-4 that it
flew on and like The rocket just before it, it landed close to that corn
field. |

Scratch built Skywalker on an
Aerotech E30-4T
| Time at Liftoff: |
14:42:02 |
| Flight Duration in Seconds: |
35 |
| Next was the
scratch built Skywalker that blasted into the air on an E30-4 for a very
fast flight and a landing a few hundred feet to the west. |

Keith Bedard's Aerotech HV Arcas on an Aerotech F25-4W for its 2nd flight
| Time at Liftoff: |
14:42:56 |
| Flight Duration in Seconds: |
24 |
| My own primed but
unpainted Aerotech HV Arcas was next on an F25-4. I had a Canadian
Tire personal alarm on board that served as the beeper and it seems that
its weight pushed the CG farther forward enough to cause this rocket to
weathercock. Since I put a smaller chute on it, it couldn't clear
the forest and it landed in the lower branches of a tree, but it was
still just out of reach. With the help of some of the other
rocketeers, they managed to knock it out of the tree for me. This
is the SECOND time this rocket has landed in the "Blair Witch
Forest" as I like to call it. This forest is dark & dense
and it would make a perfect location for a Blair Witch style
movie. Ironically, if I had used the stock chute in this rocket,
it probably would have easily cleared the forest. |
