Launch Report for Saturday, September 29th, 2001
(Salvo 11)

Anthony Brohan's Estes Echostar on an Estes C6-0 staging to an Estes C6-7 for its 1st flight

Time at Liftoff: 15:39
Flight Duration in Seconds: ??
I missed taping most of this flight and in fact the photo of this rocket on the pad was taken from a misfire on the previous salvo.  I only caught the flight starting from near apogee to the landing of the payload section near the corn field to the far west.  I didn't even realize that the shock cord had separated until Anthony told me that the airframe had landed in the forest and he asked if he could review my video footage.  It's unfortunate that I didn't have my camera ready on time to catch the entire flight and to zoom in on the rocket at altitude.  Speaking of altitude, this rocket got a lot of it since it was flown on a C6-0 staging to a C6-7.

Jean-Denis Rivet's LOC/Precision LOC IV on an Aerotech G40(?)

Time at Liftoff: 15:52:44
Flight Duration in Seconds: ??
I didn't catch the motor type for this flight, but it's clearly a G35 Econojet or a G40.  Jean-Denis' LOC IV made its second flight today and I think my best photos of the day were from this flight.  The boost was a little scary though since it weathercocked unexpectedly towards the forest and the ejection charge only fired 100 to 200 feet above the trees.  The rocket landed in the forest and at this time, I don't know if the rocket was ever recovered.

Jacques Beauséjours' Estes Space Shuttle on an Estes C5-3

Time at Liftoff: 15:53:35
Flight Duration in Seconds: 13 (Orbiter)
15 (Booster)
Jacques' Estes Space Shuttle was up next on a C5-3.  This was another flight where the photos I got were some of my favorites since I managed to zoom in close on the glider for a few frames.  The boost was excellent, but the glider seemed to fall into a flat spin for a bit before it stabilized closer to the ground.  Looking at the photos, one might mistake the orbiter for the real thing instead of a few lucky frames of video of an eight inch long glider.

Émille's scratch built Dracula on an Estes D12-5

Time at Liftoff: 15:54:43
Flight Duration in Seconds: 41
I was surprised to hear that this little rocket was going up on a D12-5 and boy did it go up... quick!  A nice boost with  a recovery a couple hundred feet west of the pad.
