Ninja was up next on a 1981 vintage A3-6T and as usual, it wobbled a little in flight due to a construction error I made. The old A3-6T made quite a nice smoke trail on its way up and Ninja landed reasonably close to the pad. Nice flight! |

I sent my scratch built Warthog up on my last 1980 vintage A8-5 for its third flight. Even on an A8-5, this little rocket gained some serious altitude. I used a chrome colored streamer for its recovery so it was easy to spot once it deployed. Another great flight! |

Scamp 01, my first of two Scamps was up next on an A8-3 for its third flight. Very nice boost and recovery... uneventful flight. |

Mongoose went up on a B6-0/B6-6 combination for its third flight and its first two stage flight. Very impressive boost but there was buckling of the upper stage body tube just ahead of the motor mount which I assume came from a hard landing since Mongoose comes down on a streamer. Also, it seems the booster may have come in stable since there was quite a bit of mud in the forward end of the booster. |

| My nearly eighteen year old Sky Raider was up next on a C6-3 for its sixth and nearly its last flight. The boost was perfect as usual, but it drifted far on its 18 inch chute... very far. I tracked with my video camera and so I was able to get an idea as to where it landed. My father and I drove to the approximate landing site and I found it near a ditch near some apartment buildings. It was only about five feet from the side of the road. Thankfully, it didn't land where it could get run over. Sky Raider was recovered safe and sound with a couple of minor Estes dents. | |
All in all, a good day of
flying... could have been much worse! :-)
