Launch Report for Saturday, July 1st, 2000

I brought my NCR Command Control launch controller, my first Estes Porta Pad launch pad, and my camcorder to record each flight.

Flight 367, 18th flight this year
Estes Kadet on an Estes A8-3 for its 5th flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
This first flight of the day was to test wind speed and direction above the height of the buildings.  A great first flight of the day by my 1980's vintage Estes Kadet!

Flight 368, 19th flight this year
Estes Kadet on an Estes A8-3 for its 6th flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:

Flight 369, 20th flight this year
Estes Mini Cobra on an Estes 1/4A3-3T for its 3rd flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
This little rocket gets a lot of altitude, even on a 1/4A and it gets up there quickly too.

Flight 370, 21st flight this year
Estes Mini Cobra on an Estes 1/2A3-0T staging to an Estes 1/4A3-3T for its 4th flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
This flight marks my first ever where I multi-staged mini-motors and it was my first ever use of an Estes 1/2A3-0T booster motor.  The 1/2A booster was 1976 vintage and it ejected out of the booster stage, leaving the booster stage still attached while the 1/4A upper stage motor charred the inside of it.  With some cleaning, it became usable again.

Flight 371, 22nd flight this year
Estes Mini Cobra on an Estes A10-0T staging to an Estes 1/4A3-3T for its 5th flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
Another first, I used an Estes A10-0T booster for my first time ever.  Unfortunately, the upper stage didn't light and the result was a lawn dart.  Surprisingly, there was no damage.

Flight 372, 23rd flight this year
Estes Flash on an Estes B4-4 for its 4th flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
Flash turned its usual perfect flight...

Flight 373, 24th flight this year
Estes Mach 12 on an Estes B4-4 for its 2nd flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
This is another cool flier and its bright colors help this one to show up well on video.

Flight 374, 25th flight this year
Estes Rampage on an Estes B4-4 for its 7th flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
Another consistently good flier, the Rampage kicked butt with its own B4-4 flight.  Unfortunately, it broke a fin after taking a hard landing on a paved walkway.

Flight 375, 26th flight this year
Custom Razor on an Estes A8-3 for its 3rd flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
I haven't flown this hot little rocket on anything bigger than an "A" yet since I'm afraid of losing it.  It gets up there pretty damn quick too!

Flight 376, 27th flight this year
Estes Astro Bee on an Estes A8-3 for its 2nd flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
This 1980's vintage rocket is another hot performer and again, I only fly it on "A"'s.

Flight 377, 28th flight this year
Estes MK-109 Stingray on an Estes B4-4 for its 2nd flight

Time at Liftoff:
Flight Duration in Seconds:
Distance from Launch Pad in Feet:
The boost during this flight was perfect and then I had a shock cord separation and the chute took off to the north with Stingray's payload section.  Unfortunately, I never got it back and I had to make a warranty claim with Estes.
